Looking at going on a city break next week for 4 days, have narrowed it down to Brussells or Copenhagen. Has anybody been to these places?

Any feedback would be appeciated on these cities

ultimately depends what you like doing and seeing ..

slight cheat but here is a copy and paste of my flying visit  to Brussels last month for work

So Brussels... That its number 1 tourist attraction appeared to be of a statue of a boy pissing probably doesn't bode well, but It's quite a nice little place all in all , main square has some nice buildings to look at and it has plenty of bars and restaurants but never louty or over crowded

Certainly good for a short weekend break and the rail network could easily take you other places in Belgium if you wanted to explore , the Eurostar ticket covers the whole network for free , I went up to Antwerp for the day

It doesn't have a Wow factor but I liked it , certainly better than my expectations

Copenhagen I went to in Feb so it was bloody cold but it has the Tivoli Gardens , the meh statue of the mermaid , Amalienborg palace ,  a train over to Sweden that runs quite low to the sea and is worth a journey even if you do get off in Sweden cross platforms and take the next train back , v

of the 2 I'd go for Brussels ... never thought I'd be saying that  ,

Just got back from brussels last week. We spent monday to friday there, with a day trip to Bruges (personally, was really underwhelmed by Bruges and definately couldnt have spent a full day there). Trains are very easy to navigate and relatively cheap. Having done quite a few european cities, i wouldnt say Brussels is up there with the best of them, but its something different and there are far worse places to visit.

We did the sandemans tour to get our bearings on the Tuesday, Bruges on wednesday and went exploring on our own on thursday. A nice walk up to the european quarter is worth an afternoon, the autoworld exhibit which is just behind the arc de triumph (Brandenburg gate rip off) was well worth a visit if you like cars. They have a jaguar exhibit at the moment but there are plenty of other makes to look at.

As Tony said, the mannecin pis is bizarre. The fact that the replicas in the chocolate shop next to it is about 3 times larger than the statue itself is about the most interesting thing. Not helped at all by the fact that its one a street corner, and was covered in a mexican hat and shall when we visited so you could see just the pis, and none of the mannecin.

If you're looking for a cheap deal, check out the british airways website. We managed to get flights and a 4 night stay at the hotel for £180.
