Premier League Relegation 2015/6

Putting this in other football rather optimistically at this stage and hope never to see it moved to on topic.

Just looking at the list of clubs in the league,  seeing Bournemouth there in black and white looks strange and refreshing actually.

But tried to pick three to go down and cant see beyond the three that came up this year which will make a change I think

So Watford,  Norwich and Bournemouth ?

West Ham, made some good signings and their squad is very decent...but they have got back above their stations again and are due an implosion. This year, hopefully.

Leicester, over achieved last season, squad isn't too great and the Tinkerman might be in for a shock.

Norwich, I don't think they have the firepower again.

Bournemouth play some good stuff, the squad is close knit and the philosophy is sound.I can see them rolling some teams over at home.

As much as I'd like them to stay up, I think Bournemouth will go down.

I have a theory about teams that come up from the Championship that often the ones who look the best in the Championship, struggle in the Premier League because the style doesn't suit.

It might be bollocks but I'm sticking with it :D

I'd love Bournemouth to stay up.  You've got to think Leicester are the most likely drop out of the sides who stayed up last year.  I'm not ruling out the Baggies but that's more out of hope than expectation as Pulis will surely do his usual.  As much as I'd like to think West Ham are due that implosion I think they have far too much quality for that.

So my pre-day 1 prediction will be Leicester, Watford & Norwich

No one backing newavstle for a bad seaosn then? I dont think McLaren will do well there personally.

I dont think Southampton will go down but cant see them having a season like that again next season, (we need to avenge that defeat)

Think they're in the same boat as us, lucky that there'll probably be 3 worse off teams.

I reckon Sunderland, Leicester and Bournemouth will go down, with Watford and Norwich surviving by the skin of their teeth.

Shh Demitri, don't jinx it.  If we don't talk about them then it might happen.  FWIW no I think they'll be OK.  They're planning a big splash in the transfer market and I think they'll get enough of a boost from McClaren to be OK (sadly).  But I'd love to be wrong.

I was actually going to start a thread on this, it really does seem this summer the overall standard of signings is going up through the premier league.

Look at Palace, stayed up comfortably and have added Cabaye. You'd expect one of the group of Swansea, Stoke and West Ham to drop but all are signing well.

Of the three promoted teams, I really like the signings Bournemouth are doing and the ownership structure is helping Watford as they were signing good players with La Liga and Serie A experience when they were in the championship. With them it will come down to how well Deeney, Vydra and Igahlo adapt to the prem, got to think one of those will get to double figures.

Norwich really haven't done anything yet, if they're relying on Cameron Jerome to score goals they're going down.

Sunderland and Leicester too I think. Sunderland just have too many players over 30 and it's a difficult area to sell to players to live there so they'll be down there and Ranieri is a really poor appointment imo.

I'd also say West Brom but they have Pulis so no doubt they'll get 10 1-0 wins with 8 defenders on the pitch.

Beyond that and possibly us (hopefully not) and Newcastle if they don't get in more signings, anyone see a shock team fighting relegation as I'm struggling to see beyond those teams listed.

Could need 40 points to stay up this year, could be that competitive.

Interesting. I did wonder with Southampton especially if they have a deep run in Europa league.

Also interesting if you look back to last season and the games Schnderlein missed through injury their win ratio dipped quite a bit.

Could be the opposite to last season when majority tipped them for relegation and this time nobody is....

Sunderland, Leicester, Bournemouth

What makes you think Norwich will stop up? Surprise element like they had under Lambert?

Their squad is stocked full of players too good for the championship but not good enough for the premier league.

As a team that finished 17th and has since lost its captain, top scorer and at least five or six other players and replaced them with a consistently injured RB who has been promised a CB spot, a third choice keeper and an untested (Premier League) midfielder who actually hasn't got clearance yet, we have to be considered favourites. As it stands.

Spend £50m in the next three or four weeks on recognisable quality and we might stand a chance of standing still for another year.
