Shocking, she has been named and shamed on twitter:

This is the shocking moment a mother grabbed a football hero's shirt out of the hands of an eight-year-old fan - hours before it appeared on sale for £1,500.

Ted Dockray, eight, managed to catch Jermaine Beckford's jersey as he threw it towards a group of children in the stands at Wembley Stadium after scoring a hat-trick for Preston North End.
But the boy's joy then turned to despair when an unknown woman wrestled it from him, in the 71st minute of Preston's 4-0 victory over Swindon Town in the League One play-off final yesterday.
Beckford has now called on the woman who grabbed the match shirt to return it to the eight-year-old boy.

Ted, who lives in Failsworth, Manchester, and attended the game with his family, was said to be 'in bits' and ran towards his father Martin after the woman seemed to grab the shirt for her daughter.
The family had gone to north-west London to watch his ten-year-old brother Leo play in a schools' championship. His aunt Helen Dockray spoke of his sadness to the Lancashire Evening Post.

She said: 'Ted was clearly the last one to have his hands on that shirt. He would have worn it even if it was all sweaty and smelly. It is the happiness it would have brought the child that matters.'
And, posting on Facebook, she wrote: 'How can you steal from an eight-year-old? Football is his life. My nephew is gutted. All he wanted to do is wear that shirt with pride, regardless of value.'

Jamaica international Beckford, 31, who made history by becoming only the third player ever to score a hat-trick in a play-off final, said: 'It was intended as a goodwill gesture.

'I assumed it would go to a good home from someone who was able to enjoy the game. Hopefully, it will find its way back to the kid who caught it.'
The advert for the shirt was later posted from a Stretford address on classified website Gumtree for £1,500, but has since been removed. It is not known whether this was a genuine advert.
But a happy ending is still possible, after Preston confirmed they will get Beckford to present his second Wembley shirt to Ted if he makes himself known to the club.
nd Ted's mother Sarah said the brothers had a day out at Chessington World of Adventures in Surrey today after Leo's team won his final.

A Lancashire Police spokesman told the Daily Mirror no crime had been committed, but added that its football intelligence unit would look into the case.
It comes after a baseball supporter was caught catching a fly ball at a game on May 16 - and showed off by kissing her biceps as a group of boys stood nearby, disappointed that they had not caught the ball.
Eventually, the Kansas City Royals fan turned and gave it away to a boy wearing a white jersey and mitt - but later in the game, cameras caught her calling out over the aisle: 'Give me my ball back!'

It's shocking, watching the video it's disappointing how many adults are watching and yet do nothing, the kid looks straight at the steward for help and he does nothing

There's plenty of guff going round with this, the shirts apparently on gum tree but might not be official, saw something saying he did it because of her benefits bring cut off or dome such bollocks

Something tells me the kid will be ok by the end of it

There is a steward staring straight right at it and by the looks of it a woman from Wembley too and they both let it happen.

Pretty sure the guy in the tracksuit is her fella too, disgusting how they intimidate the boy to relieve him of the shirt.

Not sure how the police say no crime was committed. The boy had it and she's taken it off him by force. How was that legal?

hmmm,

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/preston-shirt-snatcher-woman-says-5761805

The woman at the centre of a storm over a young Preston North End fan having a player's tossed shirt taken from him has vowed 'the truth will come out'.

Footage from yesterday's Wembley final appeared to show an unsightly tug-of-war breaking out after match-winner Jermaine Beckford threw his shirt into the crowd - resulting in young Ted Dockray having the jersey taken from his arms.

The 31-year-old woman spotted taking the shirt refused to answer questions over the incident when contacted by the Mirror, but said: "My side of the story will soon come out

She later told our sister site the Manchester Evening News: “People have made me out to be an absolute idiot. I will be speaking to the family, I actually know them, they’re friends.”

It is understood the woman knows the young boy and his family and plans to speak to them to clear the air when she returns from London tomorrow.

The incident has sparked a furious backlash on social media - prompting Beckford himself to speak out over the incident.

Speaking after footage of the incident, Beckford, 31, said: "It was intended as a goodwill gesture.

"I assumed it would go to a good home from someone who was able to enjoy the game today.

"Hopefully, it will find its way back to the kid who caught it."

The family of eight-year-old Ted, who was attending the game alongside his brother, father and granddad, have since hit out.

Commenting on the footage, the boy's aunt Helen wrote on Facebook: "How can u [sic] steal from an eight-year-old. Football is his life.

"My nephew is gutted. All he wanted to do is wear that shirt with pride, regardless of value."

The Lancashire Evening Post named Ted and revealed he was at Wembley to watch older brother Leo, 10, play in a schools’ championship.

The shirt reportedly appeared for sale on Gumtree at a price of £1,500 after the match, but was later removed after fans filed a complaint to the website.

The club are organising a special treat for young Ted, from Failsworth, Greater Manchester, following the incident.

A spokesman for the club said: "If the young man makes himself known to the club, we'll get Jermaine to present his second Wembley shirt to him."

Lancashire Police confirmed that its Football Intelligence Unit will be examining the case, however stressed that no crime had been reported.

At the very, very least, she's committed a minor assault if he's had the shirt and she's taken it from him.

You arguably can't prove theft because it had literally just been thrown into the crowd, but it's an assault.

The whole "my side of the story will come out" instead of actually telling her side of the story is all the proof I need that she's a disgraceful piece of shit. If it was innocent, tell us why

Doesn't that man leave with the boy, could be his dad.

Yeah and there's no video of him catching the shirt. Maybe they both caught it at the same time. People like to add 2+2 together to get a villain.

Maybe I'm wrong, but one the of the still photos shows that the lad has the shirt but she's clearly taking it off him. Normally I'd agree that the Twitter warriors should stop being such word removeds, but she looks like a nasty chav of a woman, so I'm glad there's been a witch (what an apt word) hunt.

That is pretty much my take on it. I am not a fan of witchhunting and trial by twitter idiots, but the behaviour towards the papers by both parties pretty much indicates that that vile woman and her boyfriend took it off him.

She's not even a Preston North End fan.
