After a very pleasant experience on the way down, and particularly on the way back (something really has to be said in this regard I feel - the organisation out of Wembley in particular was excellent), I'll be looking to use the train again from Moor Street to Wembley stadium for the final on the Chiltern line (thanks Rev).

Looking at the online planner for 30th May, though, it does not show a direct service. It requires a change at High Wycombe or going to Marylebone, and then going back to Wembley, unlike the direct services available on Sunday.

Am I safe in assuming there will be direct services put on that I can't view at the moment? I'll buy my ticket online in the next few days regardless I think, I'm not too fussed about changing, but for conveniences sake it would be simpler without.

KO will be 5pm more than likely (I'm sure this is standard now?), so anyone else booking may want to take that into consideration before the official info is announced.

Agree massively with that bit.

I was dreading the tube after the game, but it was absolutely fine. Loads of trains, none overly busy. Very pleasant.

I wish it was half as easy to get away from Villa Park

I was thinking of going to Plymouth (where my girlfriend lives for Uni) and getting a train in the morning as I felt it'd be easier. Then I saw that the trains take 4+ hours instead of less than 2 from Birmingham! Madness.

Took 2 hours for my coach to get off the car park at Wembley yesterday evening! Nightmare!

Bloody hell, i knew it would be bad but that takes the biscuit.

I wouldn't get a coach that far in even if it were free.

Somehow I left Wembley Stadium station on the 5.11pm train while everybody must of been in the ground and was back in Stoke after a short jog from Moor St to New Street by 8pm but the organisation at the Wembley stop was brilliant!

That's why we parked at ruislip, the pub looked after us too, was a ball ache getting the tube back but squeezed another pint in before we left

I imagine it'll probably be similar plans to this weekend just gone.  Stay in central London, then drink around Swiss Cottage which is on the Jubilee Line direct to Wembley Park.

I'm driving up from South Wales for this, booking into a hotel for the night. Doubt I'll get a ticket but just want to soak the atmosphere up. Was thinking of staying in Camden and making a night of it. Will there be many villans watching it in pubs around that area? I want to go where the party's at lol

The real ball ache for me will be getting back from VP - its either another £30-£40 for a taxi - or get Mrs Smetrov to pick me up.....

Does anyone know of any coach operators going from Halesowen way - many years ago Goldliner used to go from Northfield....?

Try Nigel at Black Country Villa, Think they pick up Blackheath and surrounds.

Looking at some of the posts above, I must have been really really lucky regarding coach travel, I went with national express and was away in good time. The police held us up for a bit, but it much better than I had anticipated.

Booked a hotel for after the game, didn't want to rush back like on Sunday. Gone for the ibis next to the ground at twice its normal rate! Will drive down to one of the stations and then train it in on the Saturday morning.

Stayed there for the NFL last year. It was pretty decent. The views of Wembley from your room if you're on that side are awesome.

That was the view from ours

Walked past it on Sunday as well and it looked like good craic in the bar and outside the front, so I'd say that's a good choice.

(Don't bother with breakfast though, go to Frankie and Benny's in the shopping mall next door ;) )

If it's not a 3 o'clock kick off, and it goes to extra time, I'd be screwed (assuming by some miracle I get a ticket). Last train back to the North East from Kings Cross is at 9. Likelihood is, I'd miss that if we won, and I stopped for the celebrations (which I would).
