Czech conceded one of the worst goals I have ever seen. We tried a silly free kick when we had everyone but plasil in the box. Instead of kicking the ball into the box, it was supposed to be a pass to Plasil who then would cross it in, but Latvia read it so easily and it lead to a 3v1 situation for an easy goal.

Good to see the Welsh winning, now if Belgium can keep up their end of the bargain, we can hopefully see the end of the only non-European nation in the tournament. Israel shouldn't be in this; if the crimes you commit against your neighbours are such that they won't play with you, then you should be forced to suffer the consequence, not given the chance to play in another federation.

Hear hear.

Although so as not to be accused if anti-semitism by the inevitable Israeli keyboard warrior, I should also point out that Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan can do one as well.

Both Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are transcontinental, which means they are both in Asia and Europe. So can be considered more of a right to be there than Israel, which shares no borders with any European countries...

Croatian wins 5-1 against Norway. Embarrasing result and naive game plan.

Martin Ødegaard played the whole match and did well. But we see that the Norwegian keeper and a couple of central players have five months without playing a singe important match.

Dutch team to play Turkey tonight in really what is a must win game for them if they want top two:

Now I accept they're missing Robben but is that 11 really better than what England put out?

I'm one of the few that think Van Gaal did an unbelievable job during the World cup to get them to 3rd place and now they have instead a Hiddink in semi retirement in the dugout suddenly the results become very very average indeed.

  • 1 Cillessen
  • 2 van der Wiel
  • 3 de Vrij
  • 4 Martins Indi
  • 5 Blind
  • 8 Wijnaldum
  • 10 Sneijder
  • 6 de Jong
  • 7 Afellay
  • 9 Huntelaar
  • 11 Memphis Depay

Hmm. I'd consider countries like Russia and Turkey to be transcontinental given that they have territory across both. That isn't the case with the Central Asian Republics. Their claim seems to be that they used to be apart of the Soviet Union, isn't it?
