Dark Souls 2 (PC)

GTA 5 (PS4)

Divinity: Original Sin (PC)

Biggest disappointments have to be Destiny and Warlords of Draenor, which I had high hopes for but both ultimately failed to deliver.

None of the games I play were released in 2014 (GTA4 on PS4 and BF4).

The only game I have bought that was released in 2014 is FIFA 15 and that's pretty naff.

Nothing really grabbed my attention, nothing held my attention and it's been pretty boring.  That said, I still play BF4 most nights and have amazing fun, so my gaming needs are fulfilled.

not sure yet, still got a fair few to play (diablo and TLoU arrived yesterday) still not played far cry 4, child of light, the wolf among us

PEs returned! CoD was better than last year and nowhere near as bad as i thought the exo suits would make it, infamous was ok, south park stick of truth was good but had some really fiddly frustrating bits, wolfenstein was really good

shadow of mordor started great but got boring, alien isolation and the evil within were both disappointing, finally got round to playing the walking dead and really didnt like it, watch dogs didnt live up to the hype

destiny was garbage

Very poor year indeed, especially on the PS4 in my opinion.

Destiny was utterly dreadful, and it was supposed to be a landmark title.

There was TLOU, but as pretty as it was, it's just a reboot.

Where's the Batman/Read Dead Redemption/Mass Effect/Bioshock etc for this generation?

Wolfenstein was surprisingly good.

Mario Kart was fantastic.

Shadow of Mordor was far, far better than it had any right to be.

Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes is a great game that happens to last for 10minutes - however the thing seems essentially designed to be replayed and pissed about with so thats reduced somewhat.

Destiny was a mess that in had some compelling elements until it became an arbitrarily extended grind - the fact that many will argue that that is where the game's meat is perhaps says a lot.

Forza Horizon 2 was pretty good.

Yet to play Elite (downloading as I speak), or Far Cry and a number of the other big releases of the last month or so. But even so I don't think we've had a classic year, really. Sadly I don't think next year is shaping up that differently either.

Yep, worst year I can remember.

I'd probably say Divinity: Original Sin has been my favourite, even though I've had stages of being bored of it and had to go back  to it a few times.

Also, Dark Souls 2 has been one of my favourite games but also one of my biggest disappointments. Odd year.

I had/have a lot of fun playing Shadow of Mordor and I seemed to enjoy Watch Dogs (Including the DLC) a lot more than most people.

I enjoyed both the stories of Wolf Among Us and Walking Dead.

I keep meaning to play Valiant Hearts: The Great War' because it looks amazing and what I know about the story intrigues me so if I squeeze that in before New Year maybe that will be part of it.

Valkyria Chronicles PC

FFXIV PS4

Danganronpa

Elite Dangerous

Dragon Age Inquisition

Rocket League Alpha doesn't really count, but.

Want to or would have played if I had the system, and pretty sure I would have enjoyed a lot - Akiba's Trip (out on PS4 in Feb though), Tales of Xilia 2, Persona Q, Bayonetta 2, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

Not great.

Sunset Overdrive

Plants vs Zombie Garden Warfare

Shadow of Mordor

Forza Horizon 2

I still have a massive backlog of games like Wolfenstein, Dragon Age, Unity and Far Cry 4.

Has been a bit of a weak year, 2013 finished strongly for me with GTA V and AC: Black Flag being two of my favourite games to play in recent times, but they don't count.

Clear winner for me is Dark Souls 2. Lots of hours ploughed into it for the campaign let alone the online multiplayer elements and the DLC which is absolutely brilliant. Lots of replay value too with trying different characters, gear, weapons and play styles.

Honourable mention goes to South Park: Stick of Truth. Had a lot of fun playing this.

Aren't all AC games the same?

Black Flag is the most different of the bunch and is brilliant because of it, but Unity has returned to the old format. I actually thought AC:4 mixed it up quite nicely too and I loved the setting, I just think Connor's character (or lack thereof) put a lot of people off.

Unity is pretty dull though to be honest. I still play it because I feel I should and I do have bits of fun here and there, but yeah, pretty dull and still has all the control issues I hate the AC games for as well as a bunch of bugs.
