If a talented coach can get the team firing again, that's all I want. People are starting to loose faith in the club. We need someone who will die for the club and inspire people and make them understand just how great this club is. Apart from that JG proved to be a great AM under BL, so even though there might be "better" candidates out there, he is a great choice. JG and BL are clearly Villa men, but when the margins in the top league can be so fine, I'd rather have someone skilled in setting us up tactically and utilise the most modern of training and fitness techniques. I think the club could also benefit from a fresh-eyed perspective too - someone that has been part of bringing success elsewhere. This could be a very important appointment. Put Sid in that position and it shows we're happy to bumble along as we are, and that is in no way meant as a slight against Sid. We are an employer though. Ability and professionalism should be the only prerequisites to getting a job here, just as it should at any other club.
