Goals (or lack of)

After looking at all the league tables (and i mean all of them even in Scotland and Ireland), we have scored a total of six, six fekkin goals and it's coming up to Xmas now!!  How pitiful is this?  Someone should be saying to the players who are supposed to score goals "look at that statistic, fekkin look at it, what may i ask are you, yes you going to do about it?  You are responsible for only scoring six goals in the Premier League, the (arguably), best league in the world.  So YOU what's your excuse?  How much are you being paid?   Oh! you run around a lot, well so do my dogs, but they are not paid to put a ball in the net, so that's not an excuse!!  Your not paid to run around a lot, or defend, your paid to put the ball in the net!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You seek praise from the crowd when once in a blue moon you scuff the ball in the net, what the hell is wrong with you, that's what your supposed to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Oh and the crowd is getting wise to you and can clearly see that YOU are just not up to the job!!! Don't blame the manager or tactics its you that should be doing what your supposed to do!!!  What do YOU do in training?  Well clearly its got nothing to do with putting the ball in the net is it?  Do YOU not look at other people with the same job as you and take note of how hard THEY are trying to put the ball in the net?  Has the penny got to drop from fekkin Mt Everest or even fekkin higher for you to get the simple thing your being paid to do?  PUT THE BALL IN THE NET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When Lambert was at Norwich they played really expansive football and scored goals for fun. They also conceded way too many.

Hughton took over and tried to make them more solid, but then they struggled creatively and he ultimately paid the price.

It is a difficult balance and in some respects I have sympathy with Lambert. He knows it isn't right at the moment - but he has very few options at his disposal.

Hopefully Benteke being back will add a goal threat and then if he can bring in the likes of Joe Cole for the odd cameo role here and there, we might have a bit more guile. As it is, we have lots of energy in midfield but it is all sideways and backways. Confidence clearly plays a part too.

When your relying on a 30 odd year old, injury prone joe cole to offer the only bit bit of guile, you really have gone to hell in a handcart.

The strikers are not good enough, but neither is the midfield, the defence, the squad, the manager, the owner.

We've scored 6 goals, because from top to bottom were a complete shambles.

In Lambert's first season not one player, outside of the forwards, scored more than 3 league goals.

In Lambert's second season one player, outside of the forwards, scored more than 3 league goals (Bacuna - and he hasn't started 1 league game this season!)

This season, not even ONE player, outside of the forwards, has managed a goal for us.

There in lies part of the problem.

Not sure I understand this. He hasn't played, which to me is another baffling decision.

I agree. We create f*ck all but one player who has proven he can create in Cole and one player with the potential to create in Grealish get next to no game time. Lambert though has for whatever reason gone from a manger who liked to send his team out to have a real go to one over the last year or so who is sending his teams out too scared to have a go for fear of conceding.

As an attacking threat we are totally clueless. It is not simply down to Benteke being out either  If only that was the reason it would be simply fixed. Our problems in terms of creating chances and scoring goals sadly run way deeper than that.

I was referring to a post above that saw him as the solution (in cameos) to the issue.

I'm not saying that he can't offer something nor am I suggesting he shouldn't be in the team. I'm purely saying that if he's our only option, then were in deep shit, given his age, form and injury proneness.

That's the same as his first season with us. Thing is it started to work towards the end if the season. I glad the defence issue has been addressed (somewhat) but why such a drastic change?

DOnt know what happened, at back end of 12/13 we were scoring goals 3 vs QPR and Stoke, 6 vs Sunderland and a few 2s. THen since the Newcastle home game last season we havent tried to attack teams

thats what frustrates me
