kurtsimonw Posted October 22, 2014 Share Posted October 22, 2014 I think Peyton's actually underrated in Denver, because of his receivers. It's not totally possible to compare, but Demaryius and Decker put up mediocre receiver numbers, Julius was irrelevant. Peyton gets there and Demaryius and Decker are a lock for 1,000 yards and 10 TDs and Julius is putting up big numbers. Decker won't be a 1k/10TD guy in New York this season. Brady's still great, obviously, but he's not really pushing on most of his receivers. Amendola and LaFell are putting up the same kind of numbers they they did in STL/Carolina. I know it's more than just simple matching of QBs to how receivers are doing, but it's a good indicator. It's also why I rate Eli highly, he's won 2 Super Bowls with completely different groups of receivers, most of whom became irrelevant after leaving New York (Nicks, Smith, Manningham, Burress, Shockey, Ballard). I've never really hidden the fact I do not like Petyon, at all. But being subjective, I have to pick him as the better player. Brady played in wind, snow, rain and ice for all those years. Something that should be considered... Will answer when their careers are over.
