rjw63
Not for the first time, I have a movie file that seems to be bigger than stated. Just wondered if anyone knows why? Anyway, the file in question is MP4, 1080p, AAC, AVC (no idea what the last two mean). Stated size is 4.46 GB...but it won't fit on a 32GB flashdrive. Any geeks out there that can explain this? The_Rev
Probably to do with how the drive is formatted. If it's FAT32 (which is extremely common) then the maximum file size can be 4gb. An MP4 is a video file, I believe AAC and AVC are just the audio (AAC) and video (AVC) codecs used in the file. The best solution would be to find a way to compress the file before you put it on the flash drive.

Ghost
If you format to NTFS, the drive won't be recognised in some media players and TVs, just fyi. Edited October 18, 2014 by Ghost
rjw63
If you format to NTFS, the drive won't be recognised in some media players and TVs, just fyi. Thanks for that. So far the flashdrive works fine in my two TV converter gadgets (Sumvision Cyclone and WD TV Play)
