Spiders

Is it possible for spiders to hold a grudge? I've had to throw the same massive spider out of my house three times now, and it ran straight back in after. I'm a bit worried that its going to be waiting for me.

Are there any humane and effective ways of getting rid of them? I've got loads  lurking around the place - as well as this big bastard.

You're never going to get rid of them. For every one you see there's probably about ten that you don't.

Spiders are cool, they kill flies. Flies are jerks. Just keep putting the big ones (I say ones because the chances it is the same spider is slim) outside if you're not comfortable with them. They don't harm you.

I'm going to go out on a limb (no pun intended) and say that was not caused by a spider native to Britain.

Nearly forgot my (sorry donnie).

If you keep moving spiders and wrecking their webs, they'll eventually move on and try somewhere else. I read that a few days ago, as my front and back garden recently had an influx of the little scary bastards. One morning I was walking up my steps to the road, and there was a spider web from the wall on the one side of the steps, to the recycling bins on the other! If I hadn't been paying attention, I could have been it's breakfast!

It's mating season for them at the moment. All the big buggers running about, are males looking for a shag. Personally I've got no problem with them, as I can't stand flies.

I've drowned 3 big ones in recent weeks.

I'll keep throwing this chap outside, although I know he will be back soon enough.

Apparently there are loads of false widows knocking about, but google images has told me that this is not one. My girlfriend is a veggie, so killing them will not go down well, although she does make me kill moths on sight - clearly, clothes are more important than ethics...
