Demitri_C Posted July 21, 2014 Share Posted July 21, 2014 Hi Just looking at possible honeymoon destinations just looking at advice? We are looking at doing a carribean cruise for a week but then for second week we are thinking to stay at the place in which the you get on board. There are two choices puerto rico or barbados. tonyh29 Posted July 21, 2014 Share Posted July 21, 2014 (edited) Barbados is currently the best Caribbean Island I've been to ( I've been to 5 so far) Maybe it was just the holiday type I had here though , all the others have been hotel based with a little bit of venturing out from time to time , where as Barbados we booked an apartment and ventured out by (magic) bus with the locals ate in restaurants in town rather than the hotel etc We did a day trip on a catamaran and by the end of it my children were dancing the Conga around the boat , my lad was incredibly shy and a little withdrawn at that time (age) and to see him doing anything like that was frankly just incredible , the guides on the boat were just amazing I hired a car and really explored the Island ..Exploring the Island you can see underground caves , botanical gardens , waterfalls , explore Bridgetown ..all very safe , never felt any sense of problems ... I may be doing it a disservice but I'd never drive around Jamaica in the same way I did Barbados , we even got threaten at Dunnes River in Jamaica when we were part of a tourist coach trip ( I told him to bugger off and left us alone but scared my wife a little ) I've not been to PR so alas can't give you an opinion on that one Edited July 21, 2014 by tonyh29 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

drat01 Posted July 21, 2014 Share Posted July 21, 2014 Barbados easily. Been to a couple of places there saying once in HoleTown and the other at the Hilton (near Garrison Savana). Very friendly and civilised island with some great beaches - I liked the one near the Hilton the best but we all have different views on what is good. PR is edgy IMO and it's western influence is based on US, which doesn't make for the perfect honeymoon. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
