Sansa escapes Kings Landing with Ser Dontos, the latter of which is then killed by Littlefinger who appears to have arranged it all. He later kills Lady Lysa Arryn and blames it on the singer Marillion. Sansa hides her identity as his bastard daughter Alayne Stone. It would appear Ser Gregor's corpse will be reanimated as Robert Strong after he is mortally wounded by Oberyn Martell and placed in the hands of Qyburn. Cersei finally gets locked up for trying to implicate Margaery in an affair and other devious acts. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh, no spoiler tags! There's also a lot of rumours that he's a Targaryen and still has a massive part to play but time will tell. Also, whilst we're discussing the books. Ramsey Snow, what a bastard! But I'm rereading DWD right now and I'm starting to feel bad for poor Quentyn. I hated him the first time around, but I pity him now. The_Rev's theories: Jon Snow dies, gets resurrected. This frees him from his oath to the Night's Watch. Ned Stark is actually Jon's uncle. Ned's sister is Jon's mum. Jon's dad is Aegon Targaryen. Jon is one of the three dragons. Varys will probably turn out to be a Targaryen too. Jon is one of the three dragons. agree with this completely - seems a bit obvious that Rhaegar is Jon's father, but its either going to be him or Aegon. I guess the fact that the books pointed out that Jon didn't much look like Ned is a factor, as was his reluctance to talk about Jon's mother and how him having a bit on the side is hugely out of character. Though it was a very dangerous game on his part to keep Jon close whilst still remaining friends with Robert. But it is kind of being built up as one of the future deciders in who gets the Iron Throne. It really helps paint the picture of Cersei being nowhere near as intelligent as she thinks she is and how bad she is at politics. She refuses to pay the Iron Bank - which is a double edged sword as in this instance, a Lannister doesn't pay their debts, despite Cersei's belief that she is making Tywin proud and her general holier than thou attitude toward everyone - and it causes the Iron Bank to call in all loans in Westeros and refuse any new loans, except from Stannis and Jon Snow/Night's Watch. It seems they'll be important as they appear to be bank rolling Stannis' claim (plus providing money so the Night's Watch can buy food), with the main condition of Stannis promising to repay them the Throne's debts when he wins it, plus almost every other house in the country is about to be crippled by the fact they will have to pay off their loans pretty soon. Also, Dragons = Global warming.
