Things wrong with our club?

There seems to be something very very rotten about our club right now. I think it has been the same way for a number of years, and I also think it is more than one or two things.

The simple question is, what is the rot and can we recover?

I think it is:

Chairman, manager, a majority of the players, a belief our young players are better than they are (which gives the chairman a reason not to spend).

Recovery?

New chairman, new manager, sign better quality players - based on "are they good enough" rather than "are they affordable" and "maybe we can get this cheaper". I also think we need to stop the over-reliance on young players from our youth system, players like Gabby who would not be here if they were not from our youth system and/or a fan.

Over to you.

Watching today, it was obvious that not only are we low on confidence, we are low on ability, poor movement, bad choices, basic errors. It all evolves from poor training and poor tactics.

Get a better coach in, Hoddle or Laudrup for example, the movement, pace of passing, everything would be better.I can't emphasise how poor a team we are at thee moment, and yet i believe we are only 3/4 players away from a top 10 team. The manager has to take full responsibility, and he has to go, i don't blame Randy in the slightest, but would recommend he gets BFR or Sir Graham to give him a bit of advice on future appointments.

I'm amazed we still get over 30'000 for every home game tbh.

Club is rotten to the core, we'll keep stumbling along until we finally get what we deserve.

Owner couldn't care less.

Success is being judged on savings and cuts made to playing staff, not results.

Manager is out of his depth and is being kept in a job because of owner's lack of interest.

Lack of football knowledge in boardroom.

Extremely poor quality squad being carried by 3 or 4 players.

Toxic atmosphere in ground caused by 4 years of extremely poor football.

If we don't go down this season, we definitely will next season, unless a few of these things change.

A premier league squad rebuilt of a shoestring. When will this cost cutting ever end? The team needs £30 plus million spent on 3-4 players to progress for the first time in 4 years. We're surviving and nothing more at the moment. It's all down to the chairman and the board. Any manager would struggle with what Lamberts had to do. It's probably hurt his own development as a manager.

Will we see it in the summer? I don't have any hopes with this board.

England, Swindon, Chelsea, all his teams try to play football.

We have to accept that we are unlikely to win anything as it stands atm, but lets at least have a team trying to play some decent football, Hoddle would do that, and he's not Lambert, thats another plus.

Hoddle is an astute tactician and a very good analyst of the game, but his management and people skills are ultimately the reason for his failures as a manager.

Positives - stadium, groundsman, training facilities, youth program, Benteke, Vlaar, Guzan, Delph, a few others who do a good job on their day.

Negatives - painfully thin squad, chairman who either doesn't care or isn't able to help, the urgent need for half a dozen quality players over the summer, manager who gets it wrong more often than he gets it right, lack of investment, toxic home atmosphere, general all-around sense of decay and failure.

The investment needs to come this summer. If it doesn't, we'll go down next year. The bottom of the league won't be this terrible again, and we won't have Benteke for the first 2-3 months of the season.
