Isaac Nehemie confirmed on his Twitter account that he has signed professional terms with the claret and blues. The 18-year-old left-sided player’s full-time scholarship arrangement at Saints was due to expire this summer. Nehemie was originally on the books of Crystal Palace, but was picked up by Sparsholt football academy near Winchester on an academy programme combining football and academic studies. Confirming his move to Villa on his Twitter profile @_IsaacN , he went on to say: “Been a proper emotional day! But guess it’s the start of something new hopefullu thanks to everyone that has supported me!” Villa’s Bodymoor Heath academy emerged as the best in the country during an audit under the Barclays Premier League Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) in November 2012. Southampton’s academy is also highly-rated having produced current first team stars Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana and former Saints stars Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain. Lets hope he isn't out on the town every weekend? As he would fit right in here with some youngsters Southampton just don't release anyone, they take kids on who want to learn, and improve and work towards qualifications if they don't make it in football, hence why the set up they have there, development there is streets ahead of ours. Lets not forget players are let go and re-signed by other clubs numerous times. We let Daniel Sturridge go who then went onto Coventry before moving to Man City. However, despite apparently having one of the best academies we still don't produce enough top performers at senior level, relative to other teams in the league. I wonder if its the way we integrate them into the senior team. Perhaps we don't have the quality at senior level for the youngsters to learn from and develop. The Southampton prodigies were spotted where there were relatively few other big academy scouts. Most Premier League clubs are concentrated in the north west or from London. There are very few in the south. Southampton were competing with Portsmouth and Reading.
