This season in my eyes was never supposed to be a relegation battle. The squad he has assembled is too good to be anywhere near being relegated. To be 3 points off the drop at this stage of the season is unacceptable. He has completely failed in his job as Aston Villa manager. We're going backwards under him, in a season which was supposed to be about progression. I didn't expect us to finish in the top 10. But a comfortable 15-12th kinda season without the fear of being relegated is what I expected. He's had 2 and a half years to get this team organised and playing how he wants them to play, but we're looking more and more clueless by the game. We have no identity, the players don't look like they know what they're supposed to be doing and his tactical knowledge is just woeful. The guy has got to go.

    • Don’t see it in his first season back after a year out - can’t see anyone putting up the cash for him and think he’ll be happy to compete for a place. What you say may come true summer of 2025 if he can’t get enough games but I still think a season easing back in slightly will have been beneficial to him. And that can include plenty of big games - look at the list Lenglet has played in, in PL and Europe.
    • I was thinking more along the link with the CEO of coca cola, or other international brands and removing at least the names The north stand and doug Ellis stand for example The coca cola stand with heavy branding for that stand    I don't care what those stands are called if we are getting substantial additional revenue
    • Have you considered trying to learn actual Swedish instead of just talking to them slowly and loudly with a slight unspecified European accent?
    • This is what popped into my head when I heard he was (apparently) their target.
    • I seen Tony Daley, once, in a Morrisons, and, tbf, a selfie was the furthest thing from my mind. Probably down to me growing up in an era without SM.
    • Finally saw My Life As A Courgette, what an utterly wonderful little film that is. Celine Sciama works her magic again.
    • Is it? Emery has got us 4th and talked about in the media. Heck hasn't brought in more money than another 4th place team would command.   Again in the above interview, he seems to think he's done amazing. I could have been blindfolded and brought in double sponsorship for a 4th place team compared to a relegation fighting team when the last sponsorship deals were agreed. He has branded us with AU1500 though, credit for that. No idea what that has to do with Villa though.
    • Some not good contracts in relation to what the club can now get. That's not a surprise. The level of sporting progression dictates what's possible. Remember, when those contracts were negotiated we were a lower mid table team.
